The last image of Dubai Basketball's first EuroLeague season was not the one anyone at Coca-Cola Arena had scripted.

Dzanan Musa caught the ball on the baseline, drifted behind the backboard, and somehow flicked it back across the rim and in. The Coca-Cola Arena, more than 11,000 strong, came off its feet.

They came home. And then they came to play.

Dubai Basketball have not played in their own city since February.

Dwayne Bacon was named EuroLeague Player of the Week on Friday. Not for a performance in front of 15,000 fans at the Coca-Cola Arena, where Dubai Basketball's home games have electrified the city for most of the season, but for a 21-point, six-assist display in Sarajevo, 4,000 kilometres from the court he calls home.

In a commanding 85-76 victory over Slovenia's Cedevita Olimpija, Dubai didn't just win the game, they clinched the series and made a loud statement: they're here to play. This wasn't just another game; it was a historic moment, marking their first-ever trip to the ABA League Semi-Finals.
